  1. Are you people serious? Mayor (for now) Colin Haime to speak about Lantzville’s by-laws, regulatory actions and how they are going to HELP urban farming? Lol, maybe you’re secretly planning a roast? Well let me give you some ideas about what to ask Mayor Colin? Come to Protect Urban Agriculture, Save Compassion Farm…http://www.facebook.com/groups/143703205679538/?id=234883869894804&notif_t=group_activity, you might be interested to read some of the articles in Synergy Magazine http://www.synergymag.ca/ and I have written a few things about this situation at Grownfoods: http://grownfoods.blogspot.com/

  2. Jan Steinman says:

Why is Colin Haime speaking at this conference? Isn’t he one of the Lantzville councillors who voted to shut down Compassion Farm, a 2.5 acre perfect example of urban farming?

Unless he is appearing as an “anti-urban-farming” voice on a debate panel, this smells like spin-doctoring and reputation-salvaging. Before Haime is allowed to speak, he should pledge to save Compassion Farm!

I hope those who attend this conference hold Haime to his actions, rather than his words.

  3. Whelm King says:

Colin Haime has now been voted out of office at least in part due to his bias against urban farming. I do hope the forum’s organizers have noted this and he has been cancelled from the event.
